Anonymous asked: What's your interpreation of child-like faith?
Children trust, believe and love things without doubting, questioning or comparing. To have child-like faith is to trust, believe and love Jesus Christ as a child would: without doubting, questioning or comparing.
“That’s easy to say, but hard to do.”
But why? I think we make it hard. We assume that just because we are “adults” we aren’t allowed to believe, trust and love without doubting and questioning anymore. Aren’t I right? Logic, equations and the scientific method are all supposedly precursors to belief systems. Not to say that these things aren’t important; a wealth of knowledge both biblical and educational have been gleaned because of these things. But we have replaced a simple belief with complicated, structured reasonings, whereas children just naively, ignorantly, foolishly believe.. right? I don’t know where this idea came from, but we as Christians need to stop thinking, doubting and questioning, and just believe. It’s not ignorant or stupid, it’s just being a child again. We need to remember how to just believe again.
There are probably deeper interpretations of child-like faith, but this is what it means to me. Hm, interesting question though.
